AI Assistant: Complete Guide

AndreiWritten by Andrei

What is this?

The AI Assistant is an intelligent coaching helper built into Athli. It understands your client data, workout library, and coaching business. You can chat with it in natural language to create workouts, search clients, analyze progress, draft messages, and much more. Think of it as a senior coaching assistant that knows everything about your clients and can take action on your behalf.

Why it is useful

Instead of clicking through multiple pages to build a workout, look up a client's metrics, or find who has been inactive, you can simply ask. The AI saves you time on repetitive tasks and gives you quick access to insights across your entire coaching business.

Where to find it

  • Web app: Click Assistant in the sidebar for the full chat page, or click the AI icon in the top navigation for a side panel

Things to Note

  • The AI has read access to all your coaching data (clients, workouts, metrics, check-ins, habits, exercises)
  • It can create and assign content through action cards that require your confirmation
  • It does not have access to your messages, billing information, or private notes
  • Chat history is saved and persists across sessions
  • AI usage may be limited based on your plan
  • The AI generates a short title for each conversation automatically

Common Problems

The AI does not understand my request Try being more specific. Include details like client names, exercise names, number of sets, or date ranges.

The AI gave incorrect data about a client The AI uses the data available in your account. If something seems wrong, verify the data directly on the client's profile page.

Action cards are not appearing Not all requests result in actions. The AI shows action cards only when it detects something actionable. Try phrasing your request as a command: "Create a workout..." rather than "Can you tell me about workouts?"

The AI is slow to respond Complex requests that involve looking up data for multiple clients may take a few seconds. The tool activity indicators show what the AI is working on.

My chat history disappeared Make sure you are logged into the correct account. Chat history is tied to your user account.
