Tracking Habits and Streaks

AndreiWritten by Andrei

What is this?

Once habits are assigned, you can view each client's completion history, adherence rates, and logging streaks from their Habits tab. The completion calendar shows which days a habit was logged, and you can also log habits on behalf of a client if needed.

Why is it useful?

Seeing a visual record of habit completion helps you understand how consistent a client is outside of training. Streaks and adherence rates give you quick insight into who is staying on track and who might need extra support or a coaching conversation.

Step-by-Step Guide

Viewing Habit Completion History

  1. Go to the client's profile
  2. Click the Habits tab
  3. You see all assigned habits listed with their current status
  4. Click on any habit to view its detailed completion history
  5. The completion calendar highlights days when the habit was logged

Understanding the Completion Calendar

  • Logged days are highlighted on the calendar, giving you a visual overview of consistency
  • Missed days appear empty, making gaps easy to spot
  • Scroll through months to see long-term trends
  • The calendar helps identify patterns, such as weekends being consistently missed

Habit Adherence Rates

  • Each habit displays an adherence rate showing the percentage of days (or weeks) completed versus expected
  • A client with a daily habit who logged 25 out of 30 days has an 83% adherence rate
  • Use adherence rates to compare performance across different habits
  • Low adherence on a specific habit might mean it needs adjustment

Logging a Habit on Behalf of a Client

If a client forgot to log or reported their habit verbally, you can log it for them:

  1. Go to the client's Habits tab
  2. Click Log a Habit
  3. Select the habit
  4. Choose the date
  5. Enter the value (if applicable)
  6. Click Save

Editing and Deleting Log Entries

  1. Open the habit's completion history
  2. Click on a specific log entry
  3. Click Edit to change the value or date
  4. Click Delete to remove the entry entirely
  5. Confirm the action

All changes are reflected immediately in the calendar and adherence calculations.

Things to Note

  • Habits are binary: done or not done for each tracking period. For numerical tracking with charts and trend lines, use Metrics instead.
  • All habit logs are stored and remain accessible even after the habit duration ends.
  • Clients can log habits from their mobile app home screen.
  • Editing or deleting a log entry updates the adherence rate automatically.

FAQs

Can clients see their own streaks?

Yes. Clients see their habit completion history and streaks in the mobile app.

What counts as a streak?

A streak is the number of consecutive tracking periods (days or weeks) where the habit was logged without a gap.

Can I export habit data?

Habit completion data is viewable within the app. Export functionality may vary by plan.

What is the difference between habits and metrics for tracking?

Habits track whether something was done (binary). Metrics track numerical values over time with charts. If you need to log a number and see trends, use a metric.
