Clients often feel like they are not making progress because changes happen gradually. A metric chart that shows their body weight dropping steadily over three months or their deadlift increasing week over week provides objective evidence of progress. This data supports coaching conversations, keeps clients motivated, and helps you make informed program adjustments.

Step-by-Step Guide

Body Composition Tracking

Track physical changes with metrics like:

  • Body Weight (kg or lbs) - logged weekly or daily
  • Body Fat Percentage (%) - logged monthly
  • Measurements (cm or inches) - waist, chest, arms, thighs, logged monthly

Set up a body composition folder in your metrics library and assign the relevant metrics to each client. Encourage clients to log under consistent conditions (e.g., morning, fasted, same scale).

Performance Tracking

Track training progress with metrics like:

  • 1RM values - squat, bench press, deadlift, overhead press
  • Sprint times - 100m, 40-yard dash
  • Endurance markers - 5K time, max pull-ups, plank hold duration

Log performance metrics after testing sessions or when clients hit new personal records.
