What is this?
The exercise picker is the primary way you add exercises to a workout in the Workout Builder. It gives you access to a full library of built-in and custom exercises, with search and filtering tools so you can quickly find exactly what you need.
Why is it useful?
Instead of typing exercise names manually, the exercise picker lets you browse a curated library complete with muscle group tags, equipment filters, and professional demo videos. You can add multiple exercises at once, saving time when building out a full session.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Open the Workout Builder for the workout you want to edit.
- Click the Add Exercise button at the bottom of the workout or within a section.
- The exercise picker modal will appear with a search bar and filter options.
- Search by name: Type the exercise name (e.g., "Bench Press") into the search bar. Results update as you type.
- Filter by muscle group: Use the muscle group filter to narrow results to exercises targeting a specific area such as Chest, Back, Shoulders, Legs, or Arms.
- Filter by equipment: Select an equipment filter (e.g., Barbell, Dumbbell, Cable, Bodyweight) to show only exercises that use that equipment.
- Select exercises: Click on an exercise to add it to the workout. You can select multiple exercises before closing the picker.
- Close the exercise picker. Your selected exercises now appear in the workout.
- Configure each exercise: For each added exercise, set the number of sets, reps, weight, rest time, and any other columns you have enabled.

Adding Multiple Exercises at Once
Rather than opening and closing the picker for each exercise, you can select several exercises in one session. Each selected exercise is added to the workout in the order you pick them. This is particularly useful when building a full workout from scratch.

Configuring After Adding
Once an exercise is added, you will see it listed in the workout with default columns for Sets, Reps, and Weight. You can adjust these values directly inline. To add additional columns such as Rest, Tempo, or RPE, refer to the trackable fields settings.
Things to Note
- The exercise library includes hundreds of built-in exercises with professional demo videos from MuscleWiki.
- Custom exercises you have created will also appear in the picker alongside built-in ones.
- Filters can be combined: for example, filter by "Chest" muscle group and "Dumbbell" equipment simultaneously.
- The search is not case-sensitive, so "bench press" and "Bench Press" return the same results.
- If you cannot find an exercise, you can create a custom exercise directly from the picker.
